ORLANDO, Fla. — The University of Central Florida will have more opportunities to combat the nursing shortage across the nation.
UCF received $10 million from Dr. Phillips Charities on Thursday to support the College of Nursing’s new building.

A total of $30 million has already been set aside for education and research activities, the university said.

The building will be located on the same campus as the UCF College of Medicine and the UCF Lake Nona Medical Center.

“Our mission is to give with purpose, and the purpose could not be more clear here,” said Kenneth D. Robinson, president and CEO of Dr. Phillips, Inc. and The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation. “Nurses save lives and our community has a great need for more talented nurses.”
The new building is expected to open in the 2025-2026 academic year.
