Officers said a blue Kia driven by 35-year-old Sara Morales intentionally hit a motorcycle and fled the scene.
The motorcyclist, identified as 40-year-old Andrew Derr, followed Morales to the intersection of U.S. 17-92 and Wisconsin Avenue where they told Morales to stop and that law enforcement had been called.

Morales made her own call to police in which she claimed the men were being aggressive and threatening her.
Police say Morales then drove to her home, went inside and came out with a gun and confronted Derr and another witness who had followed her to the home.

Investigators said Morales then pointed her gun at Derr, who then drew his own handgun and shot Morales multiple times.
In a statement Tuesday, the State Attorney’s Office said after reviewing the case they would not be filing criminal charges.

“While the facts in this case are truly heart-breaking, the law does not authorize the filing of any criminal charges. Our sincerest thoughts and prayers go out to the Morales family,” the statement said.
