New sensory gym for kids with all abilities opens in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — We Rock the Spectrum announced a new sensory gym that caters to all children with all abilities.

According to a news release, the sensory gym is a safe haven for all children, offering a unique environment for exercise, play and sensory development.

A sensory gym is a place where children can exercise both their bodies and minds in a way that promotes sensory development and regulation.

The gym offers specially designed equipment that can help children with sensory processing disorders feel regulated while having fun.

We Rock the Spectrum - North Orlando was founded to provide a place for children of all ability levels to play and grow together. As the only kid’s gym that offers an inclusive philosophy, the gym’s founders believe that all children can benefit from their uniquely designed sensory equipment.

By allowing children of all ability levels to play together, they are able to learn a great deal from each other.

The goal of the gym is to provide Play With A Purpose, or exercising and stimulating any of the seven senses through positive physical, emotional and social development. These seven senses include sight, smell, taste, hearing, touch, the vestibular system, and proprioception.

The gym’s specially designed sensory-safe equipment and the classes are all designed to encourage those senses.

The gym offers We Rock Care services, including Respite & Break Time Care and One-to-One Assistance. Respite & Break Time Care is designed to provide a break for families with children with special needs. Children without a special needs diagnosis may also use this service.

The gym offers Camps designed to enrich children with sensory, social, and academic needs when school is out. The gym also offers Parents Night Out events where parents can drop their children off in a safe location supervised by staff members. The gym provides dinner and entertainment while parents take some much-needed time for themselves.

We Rock the Spectrum - North Orlando is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers opportunities for birthday parties, various classes, and many other special events. The gym aims to be a valuable resource to meet the needs of the community’s families.
