ORLANDO, Fla. — Editor’s note: This story is available as a result of a content partnership between WFTV and the Orlando Business Journal.
Standing in front of an assembled crowd, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer remarked that while he often is invited to ribbon-cuttings in the city’s downtown neighborhoods, it’s less frequent that he gets to attend groundbreakings, given how built out the popular districts are.
Add to that the need for more housing in the city’s core, and it made the groundbreaking Dyer attended March 10 for the 27-unit Milk Stacks apartments at 211 S. Bumby Ave. in the Milk District neighborhood all the more significant.
“Adding housing is the No. 1 thing we are working on in the city of Orlando — and adding infill housing is especially important,” Dyer said before posing for photos with the project’s development team.
