New program helps residents in Orlando neighborhood get their homes painted for free

ORLANDO, Fla. — A new program is helping residents in an Orlando neighborhood get their homes painted for free.

Lift Orlando and the West Lakes Partnership teamed up for the Neighborhood Pride Paint Program.

Residents who live in the West Lakes neighborhood since 2014 are eligible for the $1,500 grant.

Workers are painting the exterior of eligible residents’ homes.

The program’s goal is to paint at least 15 homes a year for the next three years.

“Residents have been here for decades and in many cases as business leaders and community leaders have underinvested in these communities and it gives us the opportunity to work with residents and do things what the residents want,” said Terry Prather with Lift Orlando.
