Mayor Buddy Dyer hopes to test as many as 3,500 people a day.
Early Monday, there were only a few cars waiting in line at the site.
For weeks now, people have been lining up at sites across Orange County in the dark. Some people were arriving as early as 3 a.m. and the testing sites don’t open until 9 a.m.

The mayor told Channel 9′s Q McCray that he wanted to do something about the long lines.
“Covid is pretty rampant out there, and it’s important that you know if you have it or if you don’t have it, and you can be asymptomatic. So we’re trying to make it as easy as we can,” Dyer said.
Like the Orange County testing sites, the city-run testing site will be open seven days a week.
