ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — While Walt Disney World Resort’s theme parks are aflutter with nighttime spectaculars and new attractions to honor its 50th anniversary, Disney Springs is also gearing up for new offerings.
On Nov. 18, Cirque du Soleil will officially debut at Disney Springs, continuing a decades-long tradition between the two institutions.
“People are going to see a show they haven’t seen before,” said Heather Reilly, company manager of “Drawn to Life.”

Though Disney Springs and Cirque du Soleil have a long-standing relationship dating back 20 years, this marks the first collaboration between them, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering.
The show will invite guests into a world where an animator’s desk becomes the stage and drawings come alive.
This is artist Saulo Sarmiento’s third show with Cirque and he helped oversee the acrobatics portion of it.

“”It was very interesting to mix both arts … and meld both parts and creativity,” he said. “Nobody will be disappointed.”
“Drawn to Life” was supposed to open last year, but the venue closed a few days before the premiere due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The show is more ready than it would have ever been,” Reilly said.

In addition to the new show, Disney Springs will also have the largest collection of 50th anniversary merchandise across its more than 100 retail locations, as well as new food and entertainment to “round things out” at Disney Springs, said Mayra Queris, marketing strategy manager.
“Disney Springs offers so much every single day of the year for our guests, but bringing ‘Drawn to Life’ to the Disney Springs neighborhood gives us that next push of what Disney Springs can offer,” she said.
