BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — NASA’s Kennedy Space Center is partnering with three state universities to create a new space research hub.

The agreement between KSC, the University of Florida, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and UCF will create new student opportunities.

The universities will also assist in awarding NASA research grants.

Governor Ron DeSantis, who was at KSC for the agreement’s signing, hinted that the state of Florida has even more on the horizon.

“Hopefully with the new administration coming in, they’ll see an opportunity to headquarter NASA on the space coast of Florida. I think that would be very, very, fitting. But i think we have an opportunity of course to bring down more federal resources.”

Florida is now the only state with a university consortium affiliated with a NASA center.
