ST. CLOUD, Fla. — A woman is in custody after what appears to be a homicide and attempted suicide, according to St. Cloud Police.

Police around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday responded to the 500 block of Neptune Bay Circle after a child told a downstairs neighbor that their father was injured upstairs, police chief Douglas Goerke said.
The neighbor went upstairs with the child and found a man in his late 30s in the unit on the floor covered in blood. He took the child out and called the police.
Around that time, police received a second call from a woman who said she received a text from the suspect who said she had killed her husband and was going to kill herself, Goerke said.

Police arrived at the complex and, breached the apartment door after getting no response. Once inside, they found the man on the floor covered in blood and suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was moved to the patio where it was discovered he had died, Goerke said.
Once inside the apartment, officers breached the master bathroom door inside the master bathroom and found the suspect with multiple lacerations on her wrist, Goerke said..
She was taken to the hospital in police custody and is in stable condition, Goerke said.

The child who reported the homicide to the neighbor along with another child were not injured and are in police custody, Goerke said.
There is no danger to the community.
