A parent of the missing child made contact with their juvenile-aged child, who told parents that the three of them were in a Dairy Queen drive-thru with a guy from the apartments, police said.

Officers responded to the site immediately and conducted a traffic stop. That’s when Nelson Torres, 61, was asked to stay in the vehicle while the three children were asked to leave the vehicle, police said.

The children told officers they did not know Torres, but that he offered them $50 to whoever could kick a ball the furthest, and also offered a ride to go get ice cream.
