Motorcyclist killed after crashing into minivan, deputies say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Volusia County are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that happened Friday night in Deltona.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Providence Boulevard and Murphy Avenue.

Deputies said a minivan traveling southbound on Providence Boulevard made a turn onto Murphy Avenue and turned into the path of a motorcycle traveling northbound on Providence Boulevard.

The motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the van.

The motorcyclist, 22-year-old Antonio E. Brown of Deltona, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He was wearing a full-face helmet.

The driver of the minivan was not injured and remained at the scene.

There were no signs of impairment detected during the initial phase of the investigation.

Charges are pending the outcome of a thorough crash investigation.
