ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies have made an arrest in a double-murder outside of an Orlando bar over the weekend.
Elijah Heller, 34, and Stephen Szorcsik, 30, were found shot to death in a car about 5 a.m. Sunday outside Tito’s Lounge on East Colonial Drive.
Both victims had been inside the lounge before the shooting, deputies said.
Deputies arrested Johan Quinones Monday night and charged him with first-degree murder with a firearm.
On Monday, Szorcsik's mother told Channel 9 her son wasn’t the intended target, and she wanted the killer to man up and turn himself in.
"It's horrible. He was (my) son. He was my baby," Barbara Szorcsik said.
Barbara Szorcsik said she believes her son and Heller were innocent bystanders.
"Stephen and Elijah were not even the intended target," she said. "The other guy was that got away. (They) were just sitting in the car and the guy just comes up and shoots them."
Stephen Szorcsik left behind a 5-year-old son.
"He's taking it hard, because he wants to know where his daddy is," said Barbara Szorcsik.
Investigators said the victims had just left the hookah bar when they were killed. Police are reviewing footage from nearby surveillance cameras in hopes of identifying a suspect and four potential witnesses.
Barbara Szorcsik had the following message for her son's killer:
"You need to turn yourself in and accept the consequences. You took two innocent lives," she said.
