ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man who mentored the 19-year-old who was fatally shot as he was leaving a high school football game is speaking out.

Police detained four children after the Saturday night shooting at Jones High School that left Gamaine Patrick Brown dead and two others injured.

Demarcus Womack said he’s known Brown for years. They were living together and actually went to the game together on Saturday. He said the tragedy is something the entire Jones High School community is feeling the impact of, especially since Brown was so involved in the mentorship program.
“(He) always brought sunshine to every crowded room,” Womack said. “That’s pretty much who he was.”
