Marriott brand hotel on I-Drive sells for big bucks

A relatively new hotel along International Drive, adjacent the district’s popular Icon Park development, has traded hands for $39 million.

Orange County public records show the Element Orlando hotel at 8278 Universal Blvd. was sold Aug. 31 by PG-PHG Orlando LLC, an entity related to Atlanta-based Peachtree Hotel Group, to GPIF Orlando Hotel Owner LLC, an entity related to Fort Worth, Texas-based Crescent Real Estate LLC.

The transaction comes out to about $236,000 per room.
