2 people killed, 4 others injured in early morning shooting at large gathering in Ocala, police say

OCALA, Fla. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting that left two people dead and four others injured in Ocala.

Ocala police said the shooting happened Sunday around 4:30 a.m. near the 1600 block of Southwest 5th Street, a few blocks south of Silver Springs Boulevard.

According to a news release, Davonta Harris, 30, and Abdul Hakeem Van Croskey, 24, were killed during the shooting.

Four others are being medically treated at an undisclosed location, police said.

Police have not released any other details about the shooting at this time.

Police said the scene is secure and are asking that people stay clear of the area.
