Altercation at Ocala apartment complex leads to shooting, police say

OCALA, Fla. — One person is in critical condition following a shooting in Ocala late Tuesday evening, according to officials.

The shooting happened just before 9:40 p.m. at the Promenade Apartments in the 1400 block of SW 27th Avenue.

Police said an altercation broke out, possibly between two people, resulting in shots being fired.

Multiple shell casings were located on the scene, and one victim was transported to an area hospital.

Suspect information has not yet been released.
