OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A man and a woman were injured Monday afternoon in a shooting in a car near Interstate 4, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.
The shooting was reported at about 4 p.m. on World Drive, Osceola County Maj. Jacob Ruiz said.
Investigators said Jorge Luis Garcia got into an argument with his girlfriend, who was driving the car, before shooting her and himself.

Garcia, who has a history of domestic violence, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, deputies said. They said the woman was taken to a different hospital in critical condition, but she is now stable.
Multiple drivers stopped to try to help the couple, Ruiz said.
"It’s very incredible that so many people stopped to help," he said. "Those people are heroes, really, because regardless of their own safety, they stopped and rendered aid."

Ruiz said it's a wonder no one else was injured.
"It's pretty amazing that it happened that way and that ... with so many vehicles, they didn't strike anybody else," he said.
