VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Volusia County man has been arrested after deputies said he stole a vehicle from an Orange City funeral home.

The alleged crime happened at 9:53 a.m. Tuesday at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home at 1295 Saxon Blvd. in Orange City.

A staff employee parked the 300 Chrysler under a covered carport at the funeral home with the keys still inside the vehicle, investigators said.

Prince M. Occenat got into the car and drove away from the area, investigators said.

One of the employees in the funeral home got into his own vehicle to go after Occenat, deputies said.

Air One with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement officers from several agencies spotted Occenat driving the vehicle at Interstate 4 and 129-mile marker.

Occenat hit stop sticks from law enforcement and crashed near West International Speedway. He was later captured in the woods, deputies said.
