Man reported missing after canoe flipped in Alexander Springs found alive 2 days later

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A man who was reported missing after he was separated from his group when their canoe flipped, was found alive on Tuesday afternoon, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies and officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission found Davidson Anjab, 39, while searching the Alexander Springs area of Altoona.

Anjab was with two other people when their canoe overturned on Sunday.

Two of the men were able to get back into the canoe but Anjab wasn’t able to.

The men said that Anjab swam back to shore and yelled that he would meet up with them.

Deputies said Anjab was found about one-tenth of a mile into the woods from the shoreline where he was last seen.

Deputies said he was significantly dehydrated.
