ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A former caricature artist who was fired from Universal Studios theme park and then stabbed his former boss will spend the rest of his life in prison.
A judge sentenced Frederick Torres Wednesday in court. Torres was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder in August.
Torres was fired from his job and came back New Year's Day in 2016 to stab Glenn Ferguson in the head and neck with a pair of scissors at the Islands of Adventure.
Ferguson said he has suffered debilitating injuries from the stabbing.

During court Wednesday Torres begged the judge for mercy and asked for forgiveness, but blamed Ferguson for the stabbing.
"I'm asking for mercy from the courts, mercy from you, forgiveness from Glen, even though now he still gives me the death stare, looking almost like he wants to kill me," Torres said.
A psychiatrist told the court that Torres was a victim of abuse and showed signs of PTSD.

The judge, however, had 100 letters from people asking the judge to put Torres away for life.

Ferguson said Torres' sentence would finally give him some solace.
"Nightmares that keep me woken up screaming on a regular basis," he said. "I can sleep peacefully now that this monster's going to be put away."
While on the stand, Torres said he plans to appeal.
