Officers swarmed an area at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Beville Road around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said they were following the man earlier in the evening before the fatal shooting.

Daytona officers said he was wanted in connection with a shooting that happened earlier this month, so they were watching him.

Officers watched the man walk out of a house and into a white car.

New video shows officers follow the car, surround it and pull it over on Beville Road.

At one point, the white car is bumper-to-bumper with two others.

Police said the man wouldn’t get out of the car so a K-9 went to drag him out.

That’s when police said it looked like the man reached for a gun and officers fired at him.

Channel 9 doesn’t know how many of those officers actually fired their guns.

There were four officers involved in the shooting and none were hurt.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he died.

A man who said he lives around the corner ran outside when he heard all the commotion.

Luis Negron said he saw the white car and what he described as 30 police cars.

“It was just unusual for 10 shots to be sounding off at this corner,” Negron said.

The man’s identify is not known.
