Man hit by car in dispute about roundabout in The Villages

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — A man said a dispute over a roundabout in The Villages ended when he was almost run over.

Video of the incident shows a man almost knocked to the ground when he approached the driver of a white SUV, who then hit the gas.

The driver told Channel 9 the incident was blown out of proportion.

Sumter County deputies said the incident began at a roundabout at Hillsbourgh Trail and Buena Vista Boulevard.

The victim claims Kenneth Kardashian was going too fast and almost rear-ended his car.

The victim said afterward, Kardashian was screaming at him and giving him the finger.

Both drivers pulled over at a nearby gate and started to argue.

The victim said he went over to the suspect’s car to explain how roundabouts work.

That was when Kardashian started to drive away and nearly hit the victim.

Minutes later, as the victim was walking back to his car, he was hit as Kardashian was driving away.

“It’s terrible. We live in a resort. You aren’t supposed to act that way,” said resident Rita Poole.

After being hit, the victim is seen on the video leaning against his car and holding his arm as though he's in pain.

Cameras captured who was behind the wheel of the SUV and Kardashian was arrested.

“I have no comment other than it, yes, it’s completely blown out of proportion,” said Kardashian.

Despite what the suspect said, the victim believes the suspect purposely struck him.
