On Monday, investigators said they are investigating Bailey’s death as a homicide.

"When I heard about this last night -- about him getting killed -- I  cried," resident Betty Allen said. "The boy was really nice. He'll give you the shirt off his back. He will be missed."

Bailey's father recently died of a heart attack, Allen said.

Police said they don't believe the shooting was random.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crimeline at 800-423-8477. People with information leading to an arrest could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000, police said.
