ORLANDO, Fla. — A man in his 40s died Thursday afternoon after he was shot multiple times while driving on State Road 408 near downtown, the Orlando Police Department said.
Police said they were called shortly before 2:30 p.m. to a car crash at East South Street and South Mills Avenue.

Investigators later determined that the driver had been shot multiple times on westbound State Road 408 near South Bumby Avenue.
They said the man exited SR 408 at South Mills Avenue, where he crashed into a tree.

Police said the man was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he died.
Westbound lanes of SR 408 are closed at South Crystal Lake Drive.
Westbound lanes of East South Street are closed at South Bumby Avenue.
