Man arrested nearly a year after leaving scene of fatal crash, troopers say

Man arrested after high-speed chase on Florida Turnpike, FHP says Florida Highway Patrol

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was arrested nearly a year after troopers said he left the scene of a fatal crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Marcela Jr. Sauceda was arrested on Saturday.

Troopers said the crash happened on May 17, 2019 on Old 441 and County Road 500A.

Investigators said Demossi Weaver, 21, was found dead at the scene.

Sauceda is facing hit-and-run charges.
