Man arrested in hit-and-run crash that killed bicyclist near Casselberry, officials say

CASSELBERRY, Fla. — Officials in Seminole County have released more details about a driver they say is connected to a recent deadly hit-and-run crash.

Kyle Izbicky, 28, is accused of leaving the scene of a crash after colliding with a bicyclist near Casselberry.

Troopers said the incident happened Friday when Izbicky, who was driving a Ford F-150, was traveling northbound on Red Bug Lake Road.

A 62-year-old bicyclist from Casselberry was crossing on the sidewalk when Izbicky’s vehicle struck him, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The bicyclist was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

FHP said a witness who followed Izbicky’s truck provided crucial information to investigators, who were able to locate Izbicky.

Izbicky, of Casselberry, was charged with failing to stop and remaining at a crash involving severe bodily injury.

He was later released from the Seminole County Jail on $15,000 bond.

FHP continues to investigate this incident.

Izbicky’s next court date is set for Feb. 11, 2025.
