DeBARY, Fla. — A 21-year-old man who shot his girlfriend Monday at a park in DeBary turned himself in Tuesday, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators said Caleb Padgett shot his girlfriend shortly before 11:30 a.m. during an argument in the parking lot of Memorial Park on Dirksen Drive.
The victim continues to recover from her injuries, and she is expected to make a full recovery.

Padgett was charged with aggravated battery, armed robbery and tampering with a victim.
He was booked into the Volusia County Jail.
