ORLANDO, Fla.,None — A man suspected of killing his girlfriend will go before a judge Wednesday morning.
Antoine Bynum, 32, was arrested Tuesday morning. He's accused of killing his girlfriend, 30-year-old Remmi Goyens.
When WFTV asked him whether he did it, Bynum replied, "I believe so. If I did I'm sorry for it. It was a big mistake. There wasn't nobody there to help me at the moment," he said.
Bynum said he heard voices in his head Tuesday morning when police said he killed Govens.
Her mother and brother found her dead in her apartment off Hiawassee Road Tuesday morning.
Family members and friends claim they didn't know the couple had a violent relationship.
"She was a beautiful person. And I love her, and I just, she just didn't deserve this to happen," said Govens' brother, Anthony Goyens.
Goyens' best friend said the couple dated on and off for 15 years. WFTV was told that Goyens has a 7-year-old daughter.
Bynum has been in and out of jail since he was 18. Florida Department of Law Enforcement records show Bynum has been arrested once for theft, resisting an officer, and several times for drug possession. He has been arrested twice for battery. Bynum was released from state prison for armed robbery in February.
Bynum is facing life in prison if he is convicted of murdering Goyens.
