A 71-year-old Massachusetts man was killed Saturday in a two-motorcycle crash on Interstate 4 in Daytona Beach, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash shut down eastbound Interstate 4 at U.S. 92.
The crash was reported at about 10:24 a.m.
According to FHP, a 2005 Harley-Davidson driven by Glen H. Sturgeon Jr., was stopping for traffic when it was hit from behind by 2001 Harley-Davidson driven by Bruce E. Jussila, 75, of Kissimmee.
Sturgeon, Jussila and each of their passengers were ejected from their respective motorcycles, investigators said.
All four were wearing helmets, FHP said.
Sturgeon and his passenger, Joyce Sturgeon, 68, were taken to Halifax Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Joyce Sturgeon suffered minor injuries in the crash, troopers said.
Jussila and his passenger, Marianne Jussila, 75, were also taken to Halifax Health Medical Center with minor and serious injuries respectively, FHP said.
The roadway was reopened at about noon.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
