A look at the Space Coast’s busy week ahead

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — It’s shaping up to be a busy week for NASA and Brevard County.

A final test is coming before an uncrewed launch to the moon. Meanwhile, a record-setting astronaut returns to Earth this Wednesday.

Not to mention, the first all-private mission to the International Space Station is expected to launch next week.

NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei has spent nearly a year aboard the ISS, surpassing NASA astronaut Scott Kelly’s 340-day record on March 15. He is set to return home aboard a Russian Soyuz.

NASA is also just days away from the Friday start of its wet dress rehearsal for the Artemis I mission, an uncrewed mission around the moon.

On Sunday, SpaceX plans to launch the first all-private mission to ISS. The plan is to launch after the wet dress rehearsal for Artemis 1.
