Walt Disney World said The Hatbox Ghost will officially join the happy haunts at Haunted Mansion later this year.

The Hatbox Ghost is a popular character at Disneyland’s version of Haunted Mansion. With a little magic, the ghost’s head seems to disappear from his neck and reappear in a hatbox he is holding.

The Hatbox Ghost will appear to guests as they pass the Endless Hallway, grinning at Doom Buggies as they set off deeper into the mansion, Disney said.

Barriers will soon be set up in the ghost’s future spot, according to Disney.

The announcement comes in light of the new movie “Haunted Mansion,” based on the popular attraction, hitting theaters today.
