Local restaurants struggle to survive amid coronavirus pandemic

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Social distancing has has turned parking lot spots outside of local restaurants into mostly curbside pickup spots in an effort to keep businesses surviving.

“We are encouraging everyone who is doing takeout to really step up and remember the small guys because they are the ones at your community event around town,” said Chris Chan, with We are Winter Garden.

Workers are still making food and taking orders, but not as many before.

Business are struggling each day to make payroll and are figuring out how many meals they need to sell in order to survive during the pandemic.

We Are Winter Garden is hoping people will see its Facebook page and make the choice to support a local business when they are deciding on their next meal.
