Local hospital welcomes back visitors kept out by omicron surge

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Parrish Healthcare announced Monday that visitors are again permitted at Parrish Medical Center and all outpatient facilities.

The decision to lift restrictions was based on current COVID-19 positivity rates and hospital volume, the company said.

“Parrish Healthcare recognizes that family members and partners-in-care play an important role in the patient’s healing process,” said Parrish Medical Center spokesperson Natalie Sellers.

She added that PMC is “excited to be able to lift the temporary visitor restrictions that were necessary during the most recent Omicron surge.”

Hospital officials said while they haven’t enacted specific visiting hours, “quiet time” is in place between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily.

They also noted that anyone visiting a Parrish facility will still be required to complete a wellness screening upon entry and wear a face mask at all times, in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Any prospective visitors with symptoms of cold, flu or COVID-19 are asked to stay home until they are healthy.
