ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — A historic Ormond Beach church caught fire on Wednesday after city officials said it was struck by lightning.
The fire at Historic New Bethel – AME Church, located at 115 S. Yonge St., is causing road closures in the area.

The city said both north and southbound lanes of Yonge Street are blocked from Tomoka Avenue to Central Avenue.
Officials are asking people to avoid the area if possible.
