LGBTQ rights protesters to rally Tuesday at Florida State Capitol

ORLANDO, Fla. — Buses of protesters are heading to the Florida State Capitol on Tuesday to rally against a senate bill.

Several gathered outside of the Southern Knights nightclub in Orlando on Tuesday morning to ride a bus to Tallahassee.

Protesters are working against a bill that would punish businesses that allow kids into “adult live performances.”

The bill would allow fines or suspensions for allowing kids into events like drag shows.

Opponents say it targets people in the LGBTQ community.

“We’re already starting to see the impacts,” said Jeff Prystajko with Come Out With Pride. “Some of the drag queens who are performing at certain bars are already starting to lose business, bar owners are fighting we don’t want to be held liable we’re scared of some of this legislation.”

The group in Orlando will join others for a rally at the State Capitol around 2 p.m.
