Lawmakers look to increase access to preschool in Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A new bill in Tallahassee could make it easier for parents to send their kids to preschool.

Lawmakers filed a bill to expand Florida’s pre-k program to eight hours.

Right now, it only covers four hours per day.

Saturday: Land a job with OCPS Transportation Services

Parents have to find other childcare the remainder of the day or pay for the extra hours at their childcare center.

The bill will be considered during this year’s legislative session, which is scheduled in March.
