PALM BAY, Fla. — Police in Palm Bay are investigating an officer-involved shooting Friday morning.

Officers said they responded around 9:10 a.m. to a suspicious incident inside a neighborhood on Biarritz Street NW.
When officers arrived, they said 29-year-old Joseph Flemming opened fire at police.
Officers shot back at Flemming, and he was later found injured and taken to a hospital.
Police said gunshot were also heard inside of a home when they arrived and they later found a woman dead inside

Investigators said Flemming is a convicted felon with extensive violent criminal history.
No offers were hurt in the shooting and three have been placed on leave, which is standard for officer-involved shootings.
