POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Two people aboard a twin-engine plane were not injured after they had to make an emergency landing in Lakeland, police said.
A 1976 Cessna 310R twin-engine plane had trouble landing at the Sun ‘n Fun Air Show on Saturday just before noon in Lakeland.
The plane’s landing gear collapsed, and the plane skidded off Runway 27L into a safety area, police said.
The pilot, Juan G. Villanueva, 68, of Miramar, and another passenger were not hurt.
The runway was closed while crews moved the plane.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
The official cause of the crash has not been released.
