Shirtless Florida man breaks into restaurant to steal cobbler, lava cake and ice cream, police say

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Lake County deputies said a shirtless Florida man broke into a closed restaurant Thursday and helped himself to some desserts.

Deputies said a security camera showed John Caster, 42, burglarizing the Red Wing Restaurant in Groveland.

The restaurant’s owner told police that Caster broke into the restaurant through a back porch screen.

Caster had a small dog and a backpack with him as he ate a cobbler dessert out of a pan, an arrest report said.

If you’re the Florida resident who requested the personalized license plate “H00KER,” you probably saw it coming when your request was denied.

Every year, many plates simply don't make the cut. 

Yeah, that is not going to fly. 

No chance in ... hades. 

Maybe they are simply a bad golfer? 

Maybe they meant "Idaho." 

No chance. 

These plates -- if approved -- are an extra $15 a year. 

Requested vanity plates have to go through a few steps before they can be approved or rejected.

 People can call the state to complain if they see a license plate that might be questionable.

This was probably rejected by a Florida fan.

Deputies said Caster left the restaurant on a bicycle before being arrested.

Officials said that while searching Caster, they found a stainless-steel pan filled with cobbler, a lava cake and a large tub of vanilla ice cream on his person.

The items stolen from the restaurant were worth almost $200, a report said.

Deputies said Caster had been arrested for theft several times in the past.
