16-year-old driver dead, 4 children hurt after SUV crashes into light pole, tree

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — The 16-year-old driver of an SUV died after crashing into a light pole and a tree Thursday night, troopers said.

Investigators said four children, ages 11 to 16, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The crash happened off County Road 437 in Sorrento near Plymouth Hollow Circle around 10 p.m.

Troopers said all of the children involved are from Sorrento.

Troopers have not released any details on what may have caused the crash.
