LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Central Florida is helping the Uvalde community heal from last week’s deadly mass shooting.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is sending its therapy dog program to the Texas city.

“All we’re looking to do is help people work through this process,” said Robert Bedgood with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. “It’s absolutely horrific what occurred.”
The dogs are going to help with canine therapy for people in the community as well as first responders.

The team is headed there this weekend and plan to stay until next Friday.
