Lake County soon will offer small business grants to firms that have been hurt financially by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The funding will be part of the $64 million in federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act money the county is eligible to get from Florida. The business grants will come from an initial distribution of $16 million.
Businesses will be eligible for certain levels of funding depending on size and structure, including:
- Sole proprietors: $2,000
- 501(c)(3) organizations: $5,000
- Chambers of commerce: $5,000
- Business with 2-9 full-time employees: $5,000
- Business with 10-25 full-time employees: $7,500
