PAISLEY, Fla. — Deputies in Lake County are investigating after a man died after being shot during a fight with his wife.
The shooting occurred at around 9 p.m. at a home on Veva Avenue in Paisley, according to a report.

Deputies said they were called to the home for a domestic disturbance and found 31-year-old Chris Smith dead from an apparent gunshot wound when they arrived.
Detectives said Smith’s wife, Marina McDonald, told them she and Smith had been involved in a physical altercation, during which Smith pointed a gun at her.

McDonald told deputies she attempted to take the gun from Smith, at which time a struggle for the gun ensued.
Deputies said McDonald had injuries that appear to be “consistent with a physical altercation.”

The investigation into the death is ongoing and no other details were released.
