LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Lake County deputies have issued an arrest warrant for an 75-year-old man accused of shooting and killing his 74-year-old wife before turning the gun on himself.

Deputies said Morris Reynolds, 75, is still being treated at Ocala Regional Medical Center for a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators said his wife, Joyce Reynolds, 74, was found dead inside the home on Pennbrooke Parkway in Leesburg after 7 a.m. with multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies said the man was alert and speaking with deputies when they arrived at the home.

“He was able to articulate a little about what transpired,” said Lt. John Herrell, of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said when he is released from the hospital, Reynolds will face a charge of second-degree murder.
