Clermont police search for ‘armed and dangerous’ woman after attempted murder

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Clermont police are searching for a woman they consider “armed and dangerous” after an attempted murder on Saturday.

Officers said Amber Smith, 35, is being called a person of interest after a man was shot at around 4 p.m. on East Minnehaha Avenue.

Clermont police were called to a home for reports of a shooting.

Investigators found that a man had been shot and was taken to a hospital.

Police said Smith and the victim are known to each other, but did not say what led up to the shooting.

Officers said Smith fled the scene and may be driving either a white Ford F-150 with a temporary tag or a green Chevy Camaro with black racing stripes with Florida tag 79AFDS.

Anyone who sees Smith is asked to call 911 and not to approach her.
