According to Lake County’s communications, engineering must consider the slope’s drainage patterns and the area’s environmental sensitivity.

The extended road closure continues to impact residents relying on alternative routes such as SR 44 and County Road 437 (CR 437). The traffic on SR 44 is particularly congested and challenging for those without additional access to their neighborhoods.

Campione said this about the topic before today’s board meeting “I don’t want to give false hope that Britt Road will be opened soon.”

“But if everything goes like clockwork over the next three months, perhaps the road could be opened by the end of the summer or by fall 2025. We will keep residents apprised if the process speeds up or slows down.”
