LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lake County man claimed a $1 million scratch-off prize on Tuesday.
Lottery officials said John McPherson, 38, of Clermont, claimed the prize from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game.

Officials said McPherson decided to take his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.
McPherson bought his winning ticket from Publix, located at 4351 S. U.S. Highway 27 in Clermont. The grocery store will get a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
