LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lake County Sheriff deputy and a Groveland police officer face charges Friday of failing to report allegations of child sexual abuse involving a Florida Highway Patrol trooper, Lake County deputies said.
Chad Corriveau was arrested last month on allegations he sexually battered a teen, investigators said. He faces charges of sexual battery and showing obscene material to a minor.

Deputies learned Corriveau’s wife, Alicia Corriveau, who is a Groveland police officer, found out about the allegations in January or February and told Lake County Deputy Seth Luppino on Sept. 7. However, he waited an additional 13 days before reporting the incident.
Florida statutes require any person who has reason to suspect that a child is being abused or neglected to immediately report the concerns.
Luppino was suspended last month and investigators said termination proceedings have now been initiated.

Luppino has been with the Sheriff's Office since February 2008 and has had no prior formal disciplinary action other than a written reprimand for a minor at-fault traffic accident, investigators said.
