ORLANDO, Fla. — Drivers in Orlando need to be prepared for another Interstate 4 change Tuesday morning.
The Kirkman Road exit on Interstate 4 westbound in the busy tourist area is shifting.
The change will impact thousands of drivers
The I-4 Ultimate Project crews hoped to have the ramp closed by 4 a.m. Tuesday.
A new one is scheduled to open in time for the morning commute, but drivers heading westbound on I-4 will notice the exit sooner by 500 feet.
I-4 Ultimate spokesperson David Parks over said 5,200 drivers use the ramp every day.
He said I-4 Ultimate has already notified the Florida Department of Transportation in Tallahassee and from there, they will notify navigation companies to update cellphone maps and GPS devices.
Parks said for Google, it can take up to 30 days, and many drivers may need to update their apps in order to see the change.
