EATONVILLE, Fla. — An Orange County judge has ruled that the results of a 2020 Eatonville Town Council election should be overturned after finding two votes were cast illegally.
Councilman Tarus Mack had been declared the winner of the March 2020 election by a single vote over Marlin Daniels, 269 to 268.

In March, Daniels filed a complaint against Mack and the Orange County Canvassing Board, alleging an elaborate voter fraud scheme orchestrated by a “self-interested cabal” led by former Mayor Anthony Grant.
According to the ruling filed in Orange County Circuit Court this week, the judge agreed that at least two votes in the election were cast illegally.
The ruling describes the vote of one man that was “procured by former Eatonville Mayor Anthony Grant” with offerings of things of value to include forgiving a missed rent payment.

The ruling describes another vote for Mack that “should not have been counted,” because evidence found the person identified as the voter did not actually cast it and couldn’t recall doing so when questioned about it.
Therefore, the judge ruled that the actual final tally of the vote should be 268 to 267 in favor of Daniels and ordered Mack to be “ousted” from Seat 4 on Eatonville’s Town Council and replaced with Daniels.
The order gives Daniels 10 days to schedule a conference to organize the transition.

Mack has already filed a motion requesting another hearing on the grounds that at least one of the votes for him that was thrown out should still count.
